Terms of service

Last updated 30 July 2026.

Plain warning: this document has not been reviewed by a lawyer. It describes honestly how Betterloop actually behaves, and every limit in it is read from the code that enforces it - but if you need a contract that holds up in a dispute, have it reviewed before relying on it.

1. What the service is

Betterloop collects behaviour and performance data from websites you own, combines it with data from tools you choose to connect, and returns a ranked list of things to improve. You install it by adding a script tag to your own site, or by connecting a third-party service with credentials you supply.

The findings are recommendations. They are produced by measurement and, where a model is configured, by a model reading those measurements. They are not professional advice, and acting on them is your decision.

2. Your account

You are responsible for what happens under your account, including keeping your password and API keys secret. Write keys are public by design and safe to embed in your pages; API keys are secret and grant read access to your data, so treat them accordingly.

You must be entitled to install a tracking script on the sites you add, and to share the data of any third-party service you connect.

3. Plans and limits

The plans, and the limits actually enforced by the service:

  • Free - 1 project, 10,000 events per month, weekly analysis.
  • Pro - 5 projects, 500,000 events per month, daily analysis.

Events beyond your monthly allowance are rejected rather than billed. You will never receive a surprise invoice for overage, because there is no overage billing.

4. Billing and cancellation

Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Lemon Squeezy, which acts as merchant of record and handles payment and applicable sales tax. Your card details are handled by them and never reach Betterloop.

You can cancel at any time. Cancelling stops the next renewal and does not end your access immediately - you keep the paid plan until the period you have already paid for runs out, and only then return to Free. Nothing is deleted when you downgrade; limits simply apply again.

If something goes wrong and you want a refund, ask. There is no automated refund flow, and statutory rights are unaffected by anything on this page.

5. Your data

The data you send remains yours. Betterloop stores and processes it to provide the service and does not sell it or share it with anyone except the infrastructure providers needed to run the service.

What is collected, what is deliberately not collected, and how to delete it are documented field by field on the privacy page. Deleting a project deletes its events and findings.

6. What you may not do

  • Send data from sites you have no right to instrument.
  • Deliberately send personal data the service is not designed to hold - it collects behaviour, not identities, and query strings are stored, so keep secrets out of URLs.
  • Attempt to reach another account's data, or to bypass plan limits.
  • Resell the service as your own without a separate agreement.

7. Availability and warranty

The service is provided as it is. No uptime is guaranteed, and the findings may be incomplete or wrong - detectors measure what they can see, and connected tools can be unavailable or return stale data.

To the extent the law allows, liability is limited to the amount you paid in the twelve months before a claim. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8. Changes and ending

These terms may change; material changes will be announced by email to account holders before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means accepting the new version.

You may close your account at any time. Betterloop may suspend an account that breaches section 6 or that is not paying for a paid plan, and will give notice and a chance to export first, except where a breach is causing immediate harm.
